Blistex Spa effects

In 2004, for my birthday, my friend Mel gave me this pack of chapsticks. Please note that there are three different sticks each promising to change your mood, either by uplifiting, renewing, or relaxing.

My uplifting stick has been long gone but right now I have both renewing and relaxing with me. For some reason I have opted to have renewing as my nightstand chapstick and relaxing as my coffee table chapstick. It would make more sense if it was reversed. It would also make more sense if these chapsticks actually changed my mood.

Let's get to it:

Price: gift from a friend

Glide: this may be a bold statement but Blistex Spa effects has the best glide of any chapstick I have ever used. It's light and soft, yet covers thickly. If held with a lot of force it could be applied to hard which would make it greasy feeling, but as you can imagine - I have the technique down.

Flavor/smell: Renewing smells hideous, like an artificial watermelon. The scent is too strong in this one. Relaxing smells wonderful, more like baby powder than fake fruit. But with relaxing the scent can be too strong at times.

Appearance: The cuteness of these tubes lies in their mini size. They're a touch smaller than the average tube.

Product plusses: SPF 15

Despite the strong, and sometimes harsh smell, of the Blistex Spa effects I have continued to keep these tubes in very prominent chapstick positions in my apartment. This is due to their delightful glide. I wouldn't go as far as saying I'd slab on some chapstick that smelled like rotten eggs if it glided like these two, but you never know.

4.25 out of 5 tubes

According to the Blistex site renewing "strengthens and fortifies with a blend of Cucumber and Melon", a vegetable and a fruit that I have serious distaste for, while relaxing "soothes and calms with a blend of Vanilla and Plum". More importantly, let's discuss why Blistex capitalizes these ingredients. God complex? Thank you Blistex for bringing "pampering sensations and luxurious aromas of exclusive spa products to your lips everyday." And I'm not being sarcastic, I am truly grateful.
