Guest Post! Aquafina: Flavor Splash

So this is how guest posting works: you do the work, we take the credit. I kid! No, really.

Today's poster is Amy. Only 15 years of age and she already has a love for 44% white petrolatum, beeswax bases, and vitamin E. While other girls of the high school variety are slabbing on the moisture-thieving lipsticks, Amy sits in the back of math class applying one of her thirty-nine "chappysticks". And none of that tinted junk either! Blech. But she does love her chapstick addiction. In fact, she has to rotate the ones on her desk and in her backpack every week so she doesn't use up one of the good ones. Her favorite flavor: minty banana. Other enjoyable non-chapstick related activities: playing bass in the Dorkestra and collecting Beatles records.

Today Amy is reviewing Aquafina: Flavor Splash lip balm, based off the Aquafina Flavor Splash water line. She found it at Walmart, where you will also find everything you will ever need for anything ever.

Andele, Amy!

Price: $3.49 at Walmart. It comes in a 3-tube pack. Really cheap for 3 different balms but I'm not sure how much they cost elsewhere.

Appearance: They come in sleek little tubes that are three inches long and narrower than your average chapstick. Each tube is color-coded for its flavor and they all have a little Aquafina logo on the top. Cute.

Glide: REALLY nice. Not too oily but still very smooth. After having it in your pocket for a while, it's a little bit drippy but not too bad. It also makes your lips kinda shiny.

Flavor/ Smell: Okay, this chapstick is really weird in the flavor department. The 3 flavors are Citrus Blend, Raspberry, and Wild Berry so I was expecting something fruity and sweet, but each one smells and tastes really minty because they contain menthol. When you first put it on your lips tingle a bit, and the smell is a little overbearing for my taste but it dulls after about 5-10 minutes. Rasberry and Wild Berry aren't that bad but Citrus tastes like cold medicine.

Lasting Power: About two or three hours. The moisture really sinks into your lips.

Product Plusses: Cheap (at least at Walmart), VERY moisturizing, made with jojoba oil, almond oil, and vitamin E.

4 out of 5 for nice glide, excellent hydration, and low price, but I had to dock it down a point for the weird minty menthol taste.

The Auquafina lip splash is great! However, the Walmart by me doesn't have it anymore. Now I am online trying to find some more. It works better than any other lip stuff I have found.

I LOVE this lip balm.

It's perfect for those who can't find chapstick that moisturizes well enough.

I'm very disappointed that I can't find it in local stores anymore.
:-(

My lips are constantly chapped, and these keep my lips nice and smooth.

They're definitely worth a try, if nothing else.

I bought this over a month ago at wal-mart and have been using all three flavors. I started noticing a redness at the corners of my mouth that looked like a mild allergic reaction so I stopped using them. I had all ready thrown away the packaging so I couldn't get the complete list of ingredients because the tubes only say "with jojoba oil, almond oil and vitamin e." I've never had an allergic reaction to anything before so I was suprised about this although I'm not even 100% sure that this caused it but the redness went away when I stopped using them. I'm not sure why it can't be found in wal-mart anymore and I also couldn't find it listed anywhere on the aquafina page. Hmmm...strange.

I too am a major fan of the aquafina flavor splash lip balm; like many of the other people who have posted comments, I couldn't find it at the local walmart. I had to do a search and as of now there is only one place that I know of that actually sells the lip balm, which is a little frustrating. I was wondering how many posts the people ould have to make before the lip balm went out to more than one walmart? It is a lot harder to go out and buy the product when it is father from home becasue a lot of my time is spent in three other locations outside of my home, and even though all three locations have a walmart, not a one of them sells the balm. If possible it would be nice to see more of the balm in more of the walmarts as well as more of the balm in genearl, because what are we supposed to do when there isn't anymore left at the ONE walmart that does sell it?

Claire's sells this now but it's kind of pricy at their stores.

Thank you so much. I will check at Claire's. I actually emailed Aquafina and found out that Walmart does still carry this, but I still can't find it at the Walmart by me.

Thanks,
Lisa

I love this stuff. It's the only lip balm I've actually given a crap about past smearing a bit on when I have chapped lips. The menthol-y taste threw me off at first but it seems to fade away a few minutes after application anyway, so it's really not a problem.

I also love Aquafina lip balm, and my Wal-Mart has stopped carrying it! I got on Aquafina's web page and added it to my cart, but couldn't get past the registration page to check out! Can't figure that out!

Ok, I just checked my Wal-Mart website, and they show that my Wal-Mart has it in stock! But where is it?! Ask at your own Wal-Mart to see if they're stocking it somewhere new.

I was just at Wal-Mart again, and they had it! I haven't seen it there in a long time, but it's back - yeah! Keep checking your Wal-Marts.

I LOVE these balms! They are so moisturizing and it lasts, which is what counts in my book. Great flavors and love the tingle. Just the right amount.

I bought this chapstick as an alternative to my Burt's Bees loyalty, when I saw I could get 4 tubes for less than the price of one Burt's. The cashier said it was the best chapstick ever, and I am wholeheartedly impressed with it.

There is an Aquafina gloss available at Dollarama of all places... it's really wet and too mediciney for my liking. Today, however, I found the Aquafina chapstick at Walmart (in Canada). It was only $2.67 for not three but FOUR! tubes in a package. Raspberry, Wildberry, Orange, and Unscented. Goes on much smoother than other chapsticks I've tried... and doesn't make me feel sick like lipsmackers do.

Yeah, I don't think I posted this, but my walmart started carrying these again so I bought like 3 packs of 3 in case they stopped again. I still haven't used them all yet.

This blog cracks me up. When I first wrote on it I must have chosen to track replies and every once in a while when someone posts on it, I get an email letting me know. So, I just keep coming back and posting for the fun of it. Haha! Who knew chapstick could be so entertaining.
