Plain Old Vitamin E Stick

Sometimes you want efficiency. Or if you're like me, it's all efficiency all the time. The Plain Old Vitamin E Stick, which is made by many different companies, is efficiency tubed. It's got what you want - moisture, and it's form can be used to apply anywhere - lips, face, bellybutton - wherever.

I'll be reviewing Perfectly Pure's Vitamin E Stick (not pictured), which is comparable to any other Vitamin E stick I've used.

Price: $1.49. Holla.

Appearance: The moisturizer/balm is in the tube exactly how most lipsticks are, you spin the bottom and it pops up. The balm itself looks pretty much like a glue stick.

Glide: Absolute perfection. Smooth and thick. Thick enough to feel adequately coated, but not too thick that you need to wipe half of it off.

Flavor/ Smell: This is the best part, there is no smell. Well, no artificial smell. It does smell like something, but it doesn't remind me of Kool-Aid or Blow Pops or cough syrup. I guess I'd say it smells like vitamin e and the oils that keeps it solid.

Lasting Power: For-ev-er.

Product Plusses: Nothing. Plain Old Vitamin E Stick offers nothing more than plain old vitamin e.

Holy crap, I'm giving this one a 4.90 out of 5. My only complaints are the old lady style package of the Perfectly Pure with it's shiny gold lettering.

I have this product, and it seems to work well but I CANNOt and I really mean i CANNOT find ANY information as to the actual complete ingredient listing of the stick. Im someone who does prefer to buy natural products...preferably non-petroleum based, and vegan...and I bought this stick in a hurry/emergency on my way to work because I had super wind burned lips and really needed something and the store reccomended it...but they werent able to tell me the ingredients either. Then I looked them up online...no luck. Found an address and phone number for the company...and apparently its a parent corporation owning many others under it and NO ONE can even give me any info on it!!!
They cant even get me info on the number to reach the people who manufacture it or the actual Perfectly Pure company! Its nuts!
Do you have any idea? or a listing?
If you do let me know!

thanks.

Last month I found this next to the Vitamin E capsules in our Wal-Mart in Carrollton, TX. I was looking for something to coat my tummy-tuck scar since it gets dry and starts hurting pretty often. I was reluctantly going to buy Vitamin E capsules as I have before, but then I saw the Vitamin E stick and I figured for 99 cents I could give the stick a try. I am SO glad I did! It glides on easily so it doesn't pull on the scar and cause pain. Not to mention the slight tugging of the skin, while applying the oil from the Vitamin E capsules, causes stretch marks under and above the scar line due to the stickyness of the oil. Of course I've tried lotions, but lotion isn't enough moisture and actually leaves my scar feeling more dry only an hour later. Thank goodness that is no longer a problem for me because of this awesome yet simple product. My scar has softened and even lightened in color since I started using it everyday (it's less pink than before). My doctor says it is because the skin is actually healthier now. I had even forgoten to use it for 2 days and I still didn't have the drying or the pain in my scar that I used to get many times a day! It is very light feeling and not oily at all like you might expect. I used it on my lips and they felt so very velvety after the application wore off. They still felt that way the next morning. That's much longer than chapstick type products work for me. Mine ran out way faster than most people using it though. The reason was because of how large of an area I was using it for. If you are just using it for your lips, it will last you practically forever, lol. It really is great! Yay for Perfectly Pure!
I'm just disappointed that I'm out of it now and my Wal-Mart doesn't have it restocked yet :(
I found this page while searching the net for this Vitamin E stick to order somewhere cheap, without any luck, lol. I thought I might share my experience with this product so you can know how nice it is too :)
I sure hope they restock it soon, my tummy is begging for more :(

Whoa, this is so Conspiracy Theory! But y'all are right: it should not be this hard to find out about ingredients. I hope there aren't any shady dealings going on.

Oh Ageing Sara!

It's great you love the product but can I just tell you why you may just want to RETHINK about using this.

First off...Mineral Oil is a sealant (like Vaseline). It seals anything from entering your skin (so no moisture and healing benefits is actually getting in) and even worse is that it's not letting anything out. So you're skin is not breathing. Try this test at home to see how scary mineral oil is for your body. Get a hold off a small bottle of mineral oil. Pour some in a cup. In another cup, pour some water. Now take 2 crackers and put one in the water and one in the mineral oil and watch. You'll see the cracker absorbs the water but nothing really happens to the cracker in the mineral oil. So how is this really helping your skin? It's not.

Then there's the parabens. Parabens are known toxins that cause cancer, the same with the Propylene Glycole Laurate. Check out what these chemicals do the body at safecosmetics.org. Just a quick FYI... when you apply something to your skin, it only takes 30 seconds for it to get into your bloodstream. So you've got these toxins that you are putting into your body. True it may be a little at a time, but over time, it adds up.

Check out this website for healthy, skin safe, natural products. They have a great lip balm that's natural. And if you want stuff for your face - their skin care line is fantastic. It's pure and the anti-oxidants and anti-aging properties are naturally coming from the botanicals that are in the creme. It's a much SAFER option to use. If you have kids, get their bodies cleaned out now of those toxins. Possible that's why we have so many children born now with ADD or ADHD or learning disabilities, Autism. Here's the site...

I so appreciate that last comment. I bought the perfectly pure lip balm today and was told it only had Vitamin E as an ingredient. I appreciate your finding out and the comments. Thanks for helping. They will be in the garbage. God bless everyone.

I use the Reviva stick too, and I love it but I've gotten two sticks and both, annoyingly, broke from the bottom. Does the Perfectly Pure stick have this problem? Also, is it shiny(I like a little shiny)?

For those looking for the "Perfectly Pure" one specifically, I just nabbed some of these:
from Puritan's Pride
and earlier found some of these:
from Beneficial Botanicals

I'm on Isotretinoin for my acne, and it dries out my lips like NOTHING else. Insanely dry. I've tried ~15 products so far, and this has worked by far the best. So glad I found some!

(The second link looks identical to my nearly-empty Perfectly Pure stick that I've been trying to find more of, but the first is cheaper and looks to be exactly the same. I'll update ASAP if it's not, when it arrives.)

You can get this for 96 cents at Walmart. I tried to make it less girlie by sticking it into an old chapstick tube. All it did was turn it into mush.

Thank you for providing the ingredients. I tried this product as a lip gloss during the Summer of 2009. After using it, I developed an allergy to most lipsticks and lipglosses. Before using this product, I did not have any problems with lipstick. Now, I can't wear lipstick. The tube I used was not sealed in the store, so maybe it was contaminated. I'm not sure, but I have been searching for the product list to give to my doctor at the allergy clinic.

Dear All, a friend purchased some of the Reviva Vitamin E sticks while in the US at GNC. Returning to Germany I was given some of the sticks. Since I have not used that stick before I am not sure if the the following is normal.....the stick smells like it is too old, it does not glide easy on my lips nor around my eyes. It is very hard not smooth at all. I would really appreciate any comments! Thanks much in advance!

Hi
Walmart seems to be selling out of this vitamin E stick. But I found it on line at: http://www.puritan.com/e-beauty-products-010/vitamin-e-moisturizing-stick-001550 You can get 6 tubes / sticks for $7.98 -- some how I also got free shipping, I do not know how that happened - but made my day! Hope this helps - Kim

My only experience with Cococare Vitamin E rich oil was with the sole purpose of fading a red scar above my upper lip 20 years ago. I had vitamins E capsules and literally punctured a hole in the capsule and applied to the scar daily and it healed up completely, no trace whatsoever of redness.
